So you remember that server switch I told you about?

You don’t?

Well, it was kind of a while ago and the important thing is that it’s finally happening! Yay!

Basically, this server will have much more space for content, it’ll give me the ability to have plugins and potentially add more security to the site. It’s being moved over to a self-hosted WordPress.org site that a friend of mine help runs so I am in good hands there too.

This does mean one important thing though: WordPress.com subscribes need to re-subscribe to get email updates.

I’m not clear on all of the details. I’m going to try to get the subscribers that are on here that are subscribed via WP.com to also come along via the Jetpack plugin (and so still receive emails about updates to the site) but I don’t know how well that’ll work. That may only take the one follower I have that is following via emails but I’m not sure.

So an anyways, when we move, make sure you re-subscribe via email through the widget on the sidebar. It’s just a button click on subscribing and then you’re done!

This move should be happening Friday and since I don’t want to re-upload content on to the new server, Abolish Work will be taking a break until Friday and then make a new post about upcoming attractions and the server, etc.

If this negatively impacts anyone’s experience I do apologize. Give me some feedback at voyagingman2010@yahoo.com and also email me there if you have any questions or need some sort of help with getting emails again. But remember, the widget on the sidebar for doing so won’t be up until we switch servers.

The theme will be staying the same (expound) and much of the sidebar content will be staying the same as well as the URL of this site. So much of what you know and love about AW will stay the same!

I have, however, added a Flattr button to the posts and on the other server I’ve added it on the sidebar but we’ll talk about that on Friday.
