Patreon Update for 1/1/16 and 2015 in Review!

Even $5 a month really helps!

I don’t have much time to do this in so I’ll try to be brief.

According to WordPress’s 2015 year in blogging:

  • Abolish Work was viewed 14,000 times
  • December 13th was our busiest day with nearly 500 views
  • I posted 105 new posts, which led to there now being 266 posts on the site in total!
  • What Leisure is Really For, I Find Your Lack of Boredom Disturbing, Breaking Smart by Breaking Work, “Robots will take over, stupidly but surely”, and Work, Stress, Death and the American Way were the most popular posts, in that order.
  • No surprise here but Reddit was the #1 referral site.
  • Funnily enough The Mitrailleuse (which I refuse to link to) was one of my top referrals too, so thanks!
  • Over 5,000 of the visitors this year came from the US, over 150 came from Brazil (what’s up Brazilian readers?), nearly four hundred came from Australia (love y’alls accent!), and my Friends to the North (Canadians) gave the site nearly 900 views this year! The UK had a very strong showing, nearly coming in around 1000 views.
  • Most folks came (unsurprisingly) from the US but the UK and Canada were great places for the site as well!
  • I had visitors on this site from 112 different countries in 2015!

You can see the (now public) report here in a little more detail. But that’s the highlights.

What about December?

  • I posted 11 times this month
  • 7 of those posts were original articles
  • I at minimum wrote around 10,000 words this month
  • I broadened my scope of advertising to different subreddits
  • I became the moderator of Technostism and Vyrdism

Aside from Abolish Work I:

  • Posted three op-eds for the Center for a Stateless Society
  • Posted a book review for C4SS
  • Published four videos on C4SS’s Youtube channel (one with the help of Tony Dreher, thanks Tony!)
  • Wrote two poems
  • Made four Youtube videos for Star Wars reviews

And I did all of that on a little over $25 a month via Patreon!

If you’d like to increase my rate of posting and also potentially help me get an Abolish Work podcast going then consider chipping in $5 a month.

Alright, I think that’s all the time I have.

We’ll be back next week for some more content!

Until then, happy slacking in the New Year!
